Prior to Academia
Little is known about her before her sudden and exceptionally quick academic career and quick rise in higher education. Since Gnomes pick their surnames at adulthood, it would be difficult to track down exactly who her parents are or where she’s from. Fellow Gnomes may pick up on a distinct dialect shift in certain vowels indicative of lifelong raceway Gnomes. It may be curious how a Gnome of little means is in her current position and at such a young age.
High Winter
Located on an nameless snowy mountaintop somewhere northwest of Snowdrift Plains in Storm Peaks (Northrend), High Winter is a spiral tower with a singular turret which spirals upward into the air, jutting in different directions like a corrupted tree. The tower’s exterior resembles frosty tundra, making it almost impossible to spot with the naked eye. Its interior is trapped with powerful abjuration and conjuration magic, guarded by strange elemental constructs. Within High Winter are collected libraries and artifacts, along with several different types of laboratories. One level of the tower serves as a bestiary. At the very top is Izabel’s roomy studio, always with a cozy fire and a kettle on the stove.
Order of the Unseen
Whispers surrounding the Order of the Unseen offer scant elucidation regarding this secret society, leaving only the query of its alleged existence. Those who would have heard of the organization are either within or heavily affiliated with the Kirin Tor; often seen as idle gossip, most laugh the idea off when asked. The more superstitious variety might warn of finding salamander eyes on one’s window sill as a threat, coining the term ‘Newts eyes upon them’. Ten years ago the Dalaran Inquiry published an expose on the cabal, stating that the mark of the Unseen was a closed Kirin Tor eye. But, who actually takes the Dalaran Inquiry seriously?
